On March 12, 2022, virtually all the media airwaves were reminding us of the 2-year anniversary of the world shutting down due to COVID.  In every proclamation, there was another C-word that was being used even more than Covid and that word was CHANGE.  The frequency with which the latter was being used got me thinking about how such a small word was able to amass enough power to bring an entire planet to its knees.

Full disclosure, the March airwaves blared both polarities, the 2-year anniversary, and the good news that we are finally inching back to pre-pandemic normalcy (yay!).  The curious thing to me was how the same word qualified these two opposing proclamations perfectly.  Such a chameleon, this word CHANGE. Of course the sudden, seemingly new, universality of the word is a myth. The pandemic just happened to make the world have the same experience, at the same time, with the same intensity, which is why this little word, with big implications, has had somewhat of a renaissance in virtually every language of the world in the last two years (and counting). So that’s settled – we all know change is nothing new, and it is not going anywhere near a back burner anytime soon.

Bearing this in mind I thought it fitting this year, to share my own meditations on the phenomenon of change with my readers.  My video series titled “the thing about change” addresses change from the lens of my own experiences and includes a few tools I gathered along the way. These arguably simple yet transformative tools help me navigate change to this day. The techniques they employ have stood me in good stead across continents and cultures, time and age, situations and events.

It is my great pleasure to share this toolbox with you. Through these videos you will know what I know, and it is my hope that the information you gather will serve you as well as it has served me.

Enjoy.
